Veronica Swift featuring the Emmet Cohen Trio

At the age of 24, Veronica Swift is now being recognized around the world as one of the top young jazz singers on the scene. In 2015 she was awarded second place at the prestigious Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition, and in 2016 she celebrated her 10th performance at the Telluride Jazz Festival, having first appeared there at age 10. Boasting a 2017 residency at Birdland New York, Veronica went on to perform with the Benny Green Trio, the Emmet Cohen Trio and more; she also appeared as a featured artist with both Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and Chris Botti.

Veronica grew up on tour with her parents, renowned jazz pianist Hod O’Brien and celebrated vocalist, educator and author Stephanie Nakasian. It was with them that she first appeared at The Jazz Standard and Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola in New York. In addition to performing the Great American Songbook, Bebop favorites and Vocalese classics, Veronica is also a passionate devotee of 20s and 30s music, and has sung with Vince Giordano. Terry Waldo and Drew Nugent.

Veronica’s recording credits include her 2015 release “Lonely Woman,” a guest appearance on Benny Green’s 2018 studio release “Then and Now,” and features with the Birdland Big Band on their 2018 release “LIVE”. Her forthcoming 2019 release on Mack Avenue Records is highly anticipated, and will feature pianists Benny Green and Emmet Cohen.
